The Regina & District Labour Council (RDLC) is a chartered body of the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC). The RDLC currently represents over 30,000 members from 17 different unions in and around Regina.
One of the key responsibilities of the RDLC is to implement the CLC’s national political action program at the municipal level by endorsing candidates who share the values of the labour movement. Accordingly, they will have a process to consider candidates running for Regina City Council and the Regina School Board in the upcoming election.
Candidates who receive endorsement from the RDLC will be eligible to receive tools, resources and training. Details will be discussed and planned with the endorsed candidates in order to support pre-existing plans and ensure progressive local leaders are elected to council and school board.
To be considered for endorsement, you need to:
- Complete the appropriate RDLC candidate questionnaire, available directly for Council or School Board. Complete the questionnaire no later than July 17, 2020.
- Be willing to participate in a 30-minute interview if requested by the vetting committee.
