Co-op, union reach tentative agreement five months into strike

"The strike began Nov. 1 when around 900 UFCW Local 1400 employees, who have been without a contract since the end of 2016, voted down the co-operative’s final offer, which included a lower wage tier for new hires.

After months of little action at the bargaining table, the union said Monday that it had reached a tentative agreement with the co-operative’s management after a long negotiation session over the weekend.

UFCW Local 1400 says its members will vote this week on a tentative agreement reached early Sunday morning."
